Cu-ETP is an oxygenated, electrolytically produced copper with very high conductivity for heat and electricity. The microstructure consists of pure gamma with the typical austenitic twin boundaries. Due to the high O2 content, it is unsuitable for conventional welding processes (hydrogen sickness). Welding tests using a laser beam in a vacuum (LaVa welding process) look promising.
