DC01 is a soft, low-carbon deep-drawing steel and belongs to the unalloyed quality steels. With 0.12 % C, it has the highest C content. DC05 contains only 0.06 % C, which results in higher elongation at break and lower hardness.
The DC01 or St12 is suitable for medium deformations and is generally used for edging and simple drawing operations.
The fine-grained structure consists of ferrite. The fine precipitates in the interior of the grain must be cementite.
