This is a cold work steel produced by powder metallurgy in the soft annealed condition. The microstructure consists of carbides in a ferritic matrix. Due to the high proportion of vanadium carbides, this steel is very wear-resistant. The hardness is 252 HV 1.
The average chemical composition is:
- 2,45 % C
- 0.90 % Si
- 0.50 % Mn
- 5.20 % Cr
- 1.30 % Mo
- 9,70 % V
Etched with 3% Nital for 20 s.
