The material 1.4845 is one of the heat-resistant austenitic chromium-nickel steels. It is suitable for temperatures up to 1050°C under oxidising conditions, but not for use in sulphurous atmospheres or under carburising conditions at high temperatures. The micrographs show a fully austenitic microstructure in the solution-annealed condition.
The hardness is 159 HV 0.3.
