A thin sheeted line of carbides in a ferritic matrix was found in this highly heat resisting martensitic corrosion-resistant steel. An SEM examination shows clear concentration differences to the matrix composition, so that it can be concluded here that the master alloy was not completely dissolved. This was rolled out in the subsequent rolling process to form a long, thin line.
