The rim zone shows induction hardening with a low SHD depth. The ferrite was not completely dissolved. The induction hardening is therefore faulty. There was probably too little voltage applied to the inductor. The matrix consists of pearlite with grain boundary ferrite. The pre-eutectoid ferrite formation was partially suppressed, which is due to rapid air cooling after normalizing.
