In the fusion zone, tetragonal martensite is present on the C45E side (self-quenching). In the direction of S420G1, the microstructural constituents tetragonal martensite, bainite as well as ferrite are present. - C45E:
The basic structure of C45E corresponds to an interstage structure (upper bainite). In the HAZ, tetragonal martensite has formed. In addition to bainite, fine-stranded perlite (troostite) is also present here. - S420G1:
The basic structure is fine-grained as a ferritic-pearlitic line structure. The HAZ in the direction of the base material is ferritic-martensitic.
