Prime example of primary structure and secondary structure!
Austenitic cast steel, non-magnetisable. In centrifugal castings, the grains grow from the (here on the left), with smaller grains solidifying on the inner surface at the end. Fine precipitates are etched on the grain boundaries and in the interior of the grain. The dendritic solidification structure can be seen.
