Martensitic chromium stainless steel containing about 15% chromium and 5% nickel with additions of copper. It is characterized by high corrosion resistance, high strength and toughness, and very good weldability. Applications include ultra-high strength, corrosion resistant components in aerospace. The actual precision casting component is in the as-cast condition. The microstructure consists of austenite (Widmannstätten disks) and ferrite.
