The material 1.4835 is a heat-resistant austenitic chromium-nickel steel for high-temperature applications. It has a higher nitrogen content and an alloying addition of rare earths (cerium). It is scale-resistant in air up to approx. 1100°C. The micrographs show a fully austenitic microstructure in the solution-annealed condition.
The hardness is 215 HV 0.3.
