fcc microstructure with twin grain boundaries and a few carbides. The accumulation of acicular delta phase, particular at the grain boundaries, is detrimental to the mechanical properties and therefore undesirable. The sample was mistakenly dipped in hot V2A etchant and was in fact etched.
