This hypoeutectoid steel (bar stock, 10×10 mm) with 0.06 % carbon (measured with OES) was normalised at 950 °C and then slowly cooled in the furnace. The microstructure consists of ferrite, pearlite and tertiary cementite, typical for this material and heat treatment condition. The average core hardness is 110 HV5.
