Corroded Heating Pipes Made from Construction Steel

The heating pipes, insulated and coated, were positioned within the floor screed. When water from an unknown source spread within the coating, the pipes corroded from the outside, leading finally to leakages. The microstructure is nearly purely ferritic. On the retrieved pipe samples, there was no evidence left of possible zinc coatings.
