“CuZn37Mn3Ni2PbSi” Special Brass

The composition of this alloy could not be assigned to a standardised grade. The component is in the as-cast state. The dendrites initially solidified as a beta phase, with further cooling resulting in the precipitation of fine alpha from the solid phase. In the interdendritic space there is a eutectic of alpha and a bluish intermetallic phase, probably Mn-Si compound.

The hardness is 164 HV0.2.
