CW500L | CuZn5

Brass alloy with 5% Zn content. The microstructure is single-phase (up to approx. 36% Zn content). The hardness is 56 HV0,1.

Zn causes solid solution strengthening. The colour and corrosion properties are similar to pure copper materials, the strength is increased. CuZn5 has very good cold formability and is suitable and is suitable for hot joining processes such as soldering and welding. CuZn5 is hardly sensitive to stress corrosion cracking and thus offers advantages over alloys with a higher zinc content. Areas of application are mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, jewellery and metal goods and the watch industry.
