CW724R | CuZn21Si3P | Cuphin in as-cast condition

According to the EDX analysis, the alloy contains 22% zinc and 3.5% silicon; the low phosphorus content is not detected with EDX. The microstructure here is in the as-cast state and consists of alpha (fcc, darker), kappa (hcp, light) and gamma (small, blue-grey) phases. Alpha contains slightly more zinc and less silicon, making it less noble and more strongly etched. The gamma phase contains the highest proportion of silicon (approx. 7% by mass).
