Naturally hard wrought alloy with high strength and very good corrosion resistance, used e.g. in apparatus, vehicle and shipbuilding. For 5xxx alloys, electrolytic Barker etching is optimal for displaying the grain structure, since NaOH only dissolves the precipitations.
