The snap hook belonged to a lanyard. The overload fracture occurred in the weakened cross-section and for the most part brittle and transcrystalline (fissured fracture); dimple fracture was found in only one location. In longitudinal section, only a few gas pores are found along the surface. The dendritic structure is extremely finely formed.
